Killing Bill Again

Well, it finally happened. Quentin Tarantino announced officially that he plans to make a third installment of his "Kill Bill" films.

I remember reading an interview at the time of the second film's release where he mentioned the possibility of a third film in which the daughter of Vivica A. Fox's Vernita Green goes after The Bride but....who knows. I'm not sure what to think. My gut reaction reaction is to scream "NO!!!"

But I also screamed "NO!!!" when I heard they were making a sequel to "Before Sunrise" and that turned out more than okay.

Before Sunset was near unwatchable (thank the stars it was less than 90 minutes) and relied far too much on Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpi's interpretations of the characters. Watch them back to back and the horrible disappointment of the sequel is evident.

I also read/heard him speak on multiple occasions about a future installment with Vernita's daughter. And that he wanted to wait 10 years so he could use the same actress, who would then be 18 by the time the new movie was filmed.

I'm optimistic about it, because I think it would be interesting to watch a movie were the antagonist was the previous film's protagonist.

Oh, Rory, to quote Friedrich of "Kicking and Screaming" (not the Will Ferrell one, the other one), "So much anger."

I found "Before Sunset" infinitely watchable (back to back, or on its own). And 94% of the critics at Rotten Tomatoes would agree with me.

94% of reviewers liked No Country For Old Men while only 82% liked Atonement. So clearly Atonement is an inferior movie according to the statistics. So you agree Atonement was not a better movie, right?

Did I personally like “Atonement” better than “No Country For Old Men”. Absolutely. Is it a “better” movie? Who knows? Probably not. My taste is questionable. I’m the guy who just compared “Master and Commander” to “Serendipity”. But then I never used the word “better”. I used the word “watchable” and I think 94%, 82%, perhaps 75%, maybe even 63%, probably means a movie is more than “near unwatchable”.

And when this inevitably goes to court I’m sure the jury will agree with me. After all, I plan on having Gene Hackman pick the jury for me. Speaking of which, “Runaway Jury” has 72% so I may just have to rethink everything.
