A Transformers 3 Filming Sojourn

(The Michigan Avenue Bridge is up! Perhaps Shia LaBeouf is about to go sliding down it?)

With rumors spreading like wildfire that on Friday "Transformers 3" director Michael Bay had forced his stars Shia LaBeouf and Rosie Huntington Whiteley to do 57 consecutive takes of one scene in which they flee a fake explosion in 100 degree heat without a break, well, as your blogger-on-the-scene here in Chi-town I knew I had to get down there and check things out.

So in the wake of an afternoon showing of "Inception" downtown on Saturday I made my way to Michigan Avenue and immediately found endless walls of humanity that prevented me from seeing anything other than lots of semi-trucks.

(Who's on the other side of this wall of humanity? I have no idea but it must be someone famous!)

Adhering to the usual high journalistic standards of Cinema Romantico I remained on the scene for a full ninety seconds to confirm I could not see anything and then promptly retired to the nearest drinking establishment for a frosty beer. (Hey, it was hot outside!) Therefore based on this information I feel safe issuing the following prediction: "Transformers 3" will be the must miss movie of 2011.

Aren't you glad I'm here?
