Black Swan: DVD / Blu-Ray

The best film of 2010 is released today on DVD and Blu-Ray and I, as we all know, have already blathered so much and so melodramatically about how much I adore this film that everyone most likely saw the title of this post and immediately wanted to punch me in the face (not unreasonable) and so instead I will let a few of my awesome bloggers speak for me. Read up and then, if you still haven't seen this film, for the love of Christ, see it.

"(I)t's thoroughly Portman's show, and when she and Aronofsky combine at the top of their game for the near wordless and extraordinary last fifteen minutes, the film puts you in a place where previous objection no longer matters, such is the beauty of what you're seeing." - Obscure Thoughts From An Obscure Movie Fan

"The last shot is haunting. The first shot is haunting. Every shot is haunting." - Four Of Them

"Poised yet unassuming, graceful but on the edge of out of control Portman takes us to the ballet in a way we’d never expect to see. And did anyone think it would be this. Fighting off her own paranoia she slips deeper and deeper into what seems like a dream only to find that it’s all very real. The quote 'Whom the Gods destroy they first make mad' comes to mind but Portman’s brilliance is that when going over the edge she doesn’t go off the wall." - Go, See, Talk

"Once again, Aronofsky & Co. have gone beyond just great filmmaking and have created something that demands to be experienced rather than merely watched." - Rachel's Reel Reviews

Sorry, I didn't notice that Black Swan was released today, as I was too busy picking up the new album from The Sounds, also out today.

Yes! New Sounds album! Thank you, thank you! If I had known I would have ensured it would be waiting for me in the entryway at home along with "Black Swan."

At least, "Black Swan" BETTER be in the entryway when I get home. Or else.

I, for one, know that when I think of the Mila Kunis/Natalie Portman "love making scene" (oops! spoiler!) that I automatically equate it with the GDP Rate of Pakistan.
