Creates good chemistry with her co stars, can do comedy & drama, just needs a decent lead role I think.suzyqhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15542142090093110361noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17951989.post-31925457420073658332013-01-07T14:21:07.450-06:002013-01-07T14:21:07.450-06:00I'll second Flixchatter about the surprisingly...I'll second Flixchatter about the surprisingly sweet The Jane Austen Book Club.

You make interesting points about the fact that acting tends to get overlooked if it does not vary greatly from role to role. Blunt is a bit like George Clooney, in that she doesn't vary a whole lot but does what she does with exceptional aplomb. I kind of adore her and am at an "I'll see anything she's in" point with her right now. I found her somewhat problematic LOOPER (but less so the second time). I'm not sure if it's the aesthetic of the character or the accent but she initially unsettles but I ultimately cannot impugn because she sure does move you a whole deal as it nears the end. (She's just so generally affable it's difficult to not feel for her - which is one of the reasons I think she worked so well in THE ADJUSTMENT BUREAU).

I'm not fond of THE FIVE YEAR ENGAGEMENT at all, but hardly any fault of her. The film meanders, the stars get lost at sea at some points but are generally pleasant.

Going forward I'm eager to see her continue experimenting with genres. She's already done quite a few. I guess I never saw it before because I was so indifferent to Blunt, but circumstances have changed.

Brad: That was a great speech, a really sit-up-and-take-notice type situation.Nick Priggehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17895803287589438170noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17951989.post-76691476630340396322013-01-04T08:56:01.701-06:002013-01-04T08:56:01.701-06:00I would have given it to her based on Looper alone...I would have given it to her based on Looper alone. I hope you'll get to watch The Young Victoria, her performance in that one really is wonderful and in my opinion rather different from the ones you've mentioned.Mettehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08094234448852441633noreply@blogger.com
