By then, even if he was talking slow, we would have hung on his every word.

Then again, maybe not. They still probably would have messed up the execution.Nick Priggehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17895803287589438170noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17951989.post-83881653778749180172013-01-29T22:11:59.370-06:002013-01-29T22:11:59.370-06:00I've considered numerous different ways that R...I've considered numerous different ways that Rock of Ages is not up to snuff, but I hadn't previously considered it was because we got too much of Cruise, too early. Bravo for giving me one more reason.

I don't think I liked his performance as much as you did, though. His line deliveries were so agonizingly slow that I felt myself aging as I watched him. Also, it's way too much that every female character in the movie wants to sleep with him, even two different ones who are supposed to symbolize righteousness and/or feminism.

Also, very bad idea to have that one guy turn into a New Kid on the Block.

Also, way too many Foreigner songs.

Also also also

But like you, I really liked the first ten minutes. I too grew up with this music (I particularly was a big fan of Warrant) and that's the main reason I wanted to see it when I saw the trailer (and Cruise in that rock star garb looks like a hoot too!). Too bad it's not as entertaining as it could've been. Ah well... it does make me want to take out my rock ballads CD out... "Heaven isn't too far awaaaaaaaay...
