The Importance of Being Dakota Fanning

If you did not know, prodigious child actor Dakota Fanning (who is only 12 years old but is talented enough to have an Oscar by the time she's 30) stars in a film called "Houndog" that recently premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in which her character is raped.

Let it be stated for the record that while the rape does occur onscreen it is not truly seen. The way it is shot allows you to know that it is, in fact, happening but Fanning herself was not put in the position of having to actually act it out.

Hundreds of writers and bloggers have inevitably weighed in on this matter and so I will keep my weigh-in clear and quite concise.

SEE THE MOVIE. And once you have - and only once you have - present your opinion on it.

Thank you.
